The 2nd IARA International Robotics Organizations Leaders Summit Held in Hangzhou

On November 30, 2024, the 2nd IARA International Robotics Organizations Leaders Summit was grandly held in Hangzhou.

The summit invited Sun Yongrong, Chair of the Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology; Zhang Libin, Chair of the International Alliance of Robotics Associations (IARA); Zhu Shiqiang, President of the Zhejiang Association for the Development of the Robot Industry, Vice Party Secretary of Zhejiang University and Dean of the Zhejiang University Robotics Institute; Xu Chi, Executive President of the Zhejiang Association for the Development of the Robot Industry; Yuan Bingqiang, General Manager of Hangzhou Yunhe Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd.; Jyrki Latokartano, President of the Finnish Robotics Association; Oliver Tian, President of the Asia-Pacific Assistive Robotics Association in Singapore; Ishkandar Baharain, President of the Malaysia Robotics and Automation Society; Andra Keay, Managing Director of the Silicon Valley Robotics Cluster and Secretary-General of IARA; Bikash Gurung, President of the Nepal Robotics Association; Yosi Lahad, Chair of the Israel Intelligent Robotics Center; Ignacio Secades, Board Member of the Spanish Robotics Association; Chen Dongfeng, Secretary-General of the China-Japan Robotics Alliance of the Asia Technology Exchange Association; and Zailani bin Safari, Executive Member of the Malaysia Robotics and Automation Association. Over 150 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, and science and technology professionals from robotics-related fields attended the event in person.

Vice Party Secretary of Zhejiang University, Dean of the Zhejiang University Robotics Institute, and President of the Zhejiang Robot Industry Association Zhu Shiqiang; CEO of ERAY (Hangzhou) Robotics and Executive President of the Zhejiang Robot Industry Association Xu Chi; Finnish Robotics Association President and IARA Vice Chair Jyrki Latokartano; Asia-Pacific Assistive Robotics Association President and IARA Vice Chair Oliver Tian; and Guangdong Robotics Association President Ren Yutong each delivered keynote reports. From their respective professional backgrounds and disciplinary perspectives, they shared targeted, enlightening, and practical experience and case insights, giving participants a clearer and deeper understanding of the current status and trends of international robotics organizations, frontier technological innovation, and governance model exploration.

On the same day, the 5th Member Congress of IARA was also held. At the meeting, the International Agricultural Robotics Innovation Center, initiated with participation from Hangzhou Yunhe Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., presented a work report. All parties reached consensus to cooperate in areas including end-effector technology innovation for agricultural robots, intelligent perception, robotic arm R&D, development of long-endurance mobile platforms for agricultural robots, and agri-robotics agronomy-integration technologies. By aggregating domestic and international talent, technology, projects, and resources, the Center will build a base for agricultural robotics R&D and technology transfer, and advance common-technology R&D, technology transfer, talent development, and industrial growth in agricultural robotics.
